Residential Leasing

Residential Leasing in New York State is no longer a straightforward process. With the passage of the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act in 2019, residential landlords including owners of single family homes, condominiums units and cooperative units have heightened compliance requirements. Not being aware of the law can cause a variety of issues, from a Tenant legally staying beyond the length at the lease, disputes over the security deposit, and not being able to increase the rent by the desired amount. In addition to providing advice surrounding legal issues in residential leases and drafting residential leases, we have developed a proprietary system to keep landlords informed about necessary deadlines and avoid conflict.
